“Oh my gosh – why did I marry you?!”
– Me
That’s me – letting out an exasperated sigh every time my dear husband cracks a dumb joke or attempts at embarrassing me in public. A playful one at heart, the husband tries his best to entertain me with his ‘lame’ jests whenever he gets an opportunity to strike! He will go to all heights to have me stifle a giggle or well at least in my opinion, to get his own bit of laugh.

“Choose annnyythinggg you want dear!”
– The Husband
My husband exclaimed the above out loud in a handbag boutique during one of our first dates, loud enough for other customers to hear. While he had absolutely no intention of honoring his words, he did it just to see my horrified reaction. We never went back to that boutique ever again.
It is endless. It was unpredictable until it became somewhat predictable and as we came to know one another better, I began finishing his jokes and boy, was he ‘unhappy’! He would laugh at his own jokes as if they were the funniest things on earth and I would (time and time again) be astonished at the oddity of it all.
Having said that, the husband never fails to amaze me. Deep beneath that jovial surface, he is also loving, caring and resourceful. I admire his intelligence and wittiness. But above all, I applaud his patience and resilience. I’d always known of his immense passion and love for games, and it was this very same burning desire that catapulted him to take his leap of faith with GREYHAT.
For my birthday last year in 2020, he also made “Pastry Chase”. A game of a bunny hopping through obstacles in search for cupcakes and pastries! (Yes, that’s me in real life – always looking for an opportunity for a café hop!)
You can play the game for free HERE!
Just watching his journey during the one and half years of game development, was eye-opening. Even more impressive was that he went solo. Journeying with him taught me a lot of things. It taught me to think out of the box and that we should never stop learning regardless of the age that we are in. For me, that was my Lesson 101. Whenever I reach a roadblock or a stop sign, I will consciously tell myself “You need to pull a Leon”. If he can fight adversity, so can you.
A gift from the husband during my birthday in 2020: –
32 Years Ago
Historians will miss this, to their disgrace,
They don't even seem to know
That the world became a more beautiful place
Thirty-two years ago.
That's when you came into the world,
And consequently into my life
Though then I was only 5 months old,
Fate had brought me my wife.
Though our lives together may ebb, flow & surge
Bitter, savoury, sweet,
Never am I not resisting the urge
To sweep you off your feet.
Of a thousand things I've yet to profess,
One, I must confide:
I savour each passing moment that lets
Me grow old by your side.

Five years in, and I am excited for the many more years ahead with the husband. Thank you for always being there for me, for supporting me throughout my career life, fueling my passions (and the occasional food hunt!) and for loving me for who I am.
And thank you for the homemade outfits for baby Snoflek!
Cheers to More Years Ahead!
