People all around,
But I don't hear a sound,
Movement frantic, a blur -
All I see are flashes of colour.
I feel -
My feet on the floor.
I hear -
The beating of my cœur.
As I drift -
From hall to hall,
Watching. Listening. Just being.
It feels -
As if I am invisible,
Not absent -
But a spectator,
Of this very moment.
Inspired by my second visit to Musee d’Orsay as I simply drifted from hall to hall until I found myself back in the space where Van Gogh’s artworks were exhibited. Just being in that present moment and watching the world before me unfold was grounding.
The artwork featured here is by Hippolyte Flandrin – Pietà which was painted in 1842 and displayed in Lyon. This artwork made me pause and I guess it resonates with my state of mind and also how I view the world.
